New figures released this month show that almost 60% of parents now prefer giving their child a name that feels ‘uncommon’ steering away from overused choices. With this in mind, experts analysed official birth data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) to uncover both the most popular and most unique floral-inspired baby names in the UK.
Lily , long established as a British favourite, still holds the crown as the most popular floral name in 2024, with 2,280 babies across the UK given the name. Despite a 13.3% decrease from 2023 - when 2,629 babies were named Lily - it still remains the strongest floral-inspired name.
