There was a paragraph in the story about Tulsa Day Center outreach supervisor Josh Sanders on Sunday’s front page that I wanted to point out.
Sanders allowed columnist Ginnie Graham and photojournalist Mike Simons to join him on the rounds to check on people who were homeless and now in supportive housing .
It’s this paragraph: “In 2020, Sanders found a news article that referenced Housing Solutions and sent an email. He spoke of his police experience, his heart for public service and the homelessness he sees firsthand. Two months later, he was offered a position that only had a six-month guarantee. His annual salary went from about $120,000 to $32,000.”
When I read that in Graham’s story, I thought of the late Henry Zarrow.
He told us
