A Glasgow pensioner was forced to make her own way to hospital after suffering a stroke and waiting four hours for an ambulance to arrive. ‌

Elizabeth De Rosa began to feel numbness on one side of her body on Tuesday, August 12. As her symptoms progressed she called her daughter Lisa who arrived at around 6pm and dialled 999 immediately for an ambulance, reports Glasgow Live. ‌

The 82-year-old - who has perviously suffered two strokes - began to feel extreme fatigue before her face started to droop, an early and common sign of a stroke. Meanwhile, her son Chris - a production manager at Flamingo Land in Yorkshire - was driving home to the city to be with his mum and sister. ‌
