GAYLORD, Mich. — Michigan wildlife regulators are signalling their support for allowing an all-year coyote hunting season.
The Michigan Department of Natural Resources updates hunting regulations annually, and it issued an amendment to a wildlife conservation order on Aug. 14 that would pave the way for year-round coyote hunting.
There would be exceptions to this open season. Hunters cannot take coyotes in state parks and recreation areas from April 1 to Sept. 14.
Earlier this year, the National Resources Commission considered changing the coyote hunting season that typically runs from July 15 to April 15, with a three-month break starting in April.
