A round of storms with the chance for torrential downpours and damaging winds were in the Chicago forecast Monday, the NBC 5 Storm Team said, along with hot and muggy conditions as humidity rises through the afternoon.
The rainy forecast comes as hundreds across the area remain without power after severe storms over the weekend left a trail of damage for some, including downed trees and ripped-off roofs.
According to NBC 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Kevin Jeanes, Monday started out mild, with temperatures in the 70s. Humidity was expected to increase throughout the day, Jeanes said, leading to a muggy afternoon with "feels-like" temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90s.
