Door County plays host to plenty of weekend festivals, but probably never a festival like this one coming to the Peninsula. And it has a purpose besides having a good time.

"Something like this has never been done in Door County," Alex Walker said. "This is something new and something cool."

Walker is co-organizer with her husband, Chad Walker, of the Vintage Revival Weekend , a three-day celebration of vintage cars, vintage campers (yes, camping is available on site), vintage music and more, taking place from Aug. 21 to 23 on the Valmy Thresheree grounds north of Institute.

While numerous car shows and music festivals occur on the Peninsula every year, this may be the first that combines those with a vintage theme. Plus there's the other fun happenings scheduled, such as racing, 40-f
