Suddenly, the Philadelphia Phillies are counting on Aaron Nola a lot more than they'd hoped they would have to.

Nola made his first start since May 14 on Sunday, but it came just as ace Zack Wheeler was being placed on the injured list.

It's unclear when Wheeler, who has a blood clot near his right shoulder, will be available to return. That means this Phillies team, which has had one of the best rotations in baseball all season, needs every other starter to step up.

Nola and Wheeler have been co-aces of this team during past playoff runs, but before his injuries, the former wasn't anything like his old self. He entered Sunday with a 6.16 ERA in his first nine starts.
