Andrew Luck still can't fully reconcile the end of his playing career.

“I’ll always have guilt about how it ended,” Luck told The Athletic in a new story centering on his journey to become Stanford's football general manager . “I let my teammates down.”

Luck told team management of his plan to retire late in 2019 training camp, catching them by surprise.

“I’m retiring,” Luck told team owner Jim Irsay , general manager Chris Ballard and coach Frank Reich in an emotional meeting. They responded: “You’re what ?”
