Three people were shot Aug. 17 in a neighborhood off South Reilly Road, resulting in the second homicide investigation for the Fayetteville Police Department over the weekend.

According to police, the shooting was reported about 7:40 p.m. in the 7100 block of Chinoak Drive. One individual was pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. The two others sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The names of the victims were not released.

The Chinoak Drive killing came just two days after Jamie Jones, 53, was found in the front yard of a home on Poplar Drive suffering from multiple gunshot wounds Aug. 15. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
