A 17-year-old Hampshire resident is dead and a 20-year-old man charged following a shooting that took place Saturday night, according to the Hampshire Police Department.

The victim died sometime after 11:30 p.m. at a residence in the 100 block of High Street, a police news release said.

Keyshaun D. Davis, 20, of Hampshire, has been arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter, endangering the life or health of a child, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a FOID card and possession of ammunition without a FOID card.

Davis is being held in the Kane County jail pending a bond hearing. The victim’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
