GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Some West Michigan families could be eligible for financial assistance from Consumers Energy to go toward past-due bills.
Consumers Energy has allocated $2 million to support people who have past-due bills, a balance at a former address or have had their energy service shut off.
The onetime payments will be distributed by The Heat and Warmth (THAW) Fund and The Salvation Army.
