The council has chosen Voi Technology UK Ltd as the preferred provider for Edinburgh’s trial cycle hire scheme.

Voi, along with the other companies who submitted bids for this contract, have been formally notified of this decision.

The contract will run from 22 August 2025 for a period of two years with the option to extend for up to a further 18 months undertaken at the sole discretion of the Council. We are working with Voi to establish a date when the public will be able to use the scheme as soon as possible. Our priority is to ensure the scheme works effectively and in the best way possible, so we are not rushing it but focusing on implementing it in a safe and controlled manner.
