Blood moon lunar eclipse to be visible across UK in September
September is set to be an exciting month for stargazers in the UK, as many of us may be able to catch parts of a blood moon total lunar eclipse.
The eclipse is set to take place on September 7, and those in the UK and western Europe may be able to see a bit of totality as the moon rises.
While we won't be able to see the eclipse in its entirety next month, the eclipse still marks an exciting moment.
NASA explains what is meant by a total lunar eclipse, saying: "The Moon moves into the inner part of Earth’s shadow, or the umbra. Some of the sunlight passing through Earth’s atmosphere reaches the Moon’s surface, lighting it dimly.
