An elderly woman has died after being hit by a bus in Neasden. The 73-year-old was struck on Neasden Lane, near the junction of Dudden Hill Lane, just before 6pm last night (August 17).

She was treated by paramedics but was later pronounced dead at the scene. The pensioner is yet to be identified publicly, but police are working to inform her next of kin.

No one has been arrested in connection at this stage, according to an update provided by the Metropolitan Police. The force also confirmed the driver of the bus is now assisting with the ongoing investigation.

A video taken at the scene shows a large cordon and heavy police presence n front of a bus stop on Neasden Lane. The busy shopping street was closed for multiple hours following the tragic incident, but has since reopened.
