Newsmax is on the hook for $67 million for spouting egregious lies about the 2020 presidential election.
The right-wing cable network agreed to pay Dominion Voting Systems $27 million this month and another $40 million in the next two years to settle a defamation case, reported CNN.
“We are pleased to have settled this matter,” a Dominion spokesperson said.
The agreement was reached last week and disclosed Monday in a Newsmax financial filing.
There's no indication the pro-Donald Trump network will offer any on-air apology or acknowledgment of its false claims about the voting hardware and software company targeted by conspiracy theories following his election loss to Joe Biden.
Fox agreed to pay $787.5 million in damages in a similar lawsuit brought by Dominion, but the network is fighting a defamation suit by the voting tech company Smartmatic.
Newsmax agreed to a $40 million settlement with that company last fall.
