An elderly woman was left "shaken" after a bogus caller forced his way into her home.

The man turned up at the property in Osprey Drive, Russells Hall, on July 31, claiming he was a workman.

But when the woman, who is in her 70s, asked him for ID, he pushed his way in.

The crook grabbed the woman's purse and handbag and pushed her over as he left.

West Midlands Police said the woman had not been seriously injured.

Officers were now looking for the suspect in his late 20s to early 30s, who was described as white and of slim build.
