A person was rescued by the RNLI after falling near an Aberdeenshire castle and breaking their ankle.
The team from Stonehaven RNLI were called out to Dunnottar Castle on Friday, August 15, to assist with a report of a person having fallen near the base of the castle.
On arrival, two volunteer crew members swam to the shore to assist with Cas Care where it was discovered the casualty had suffered a broken ankle following the fall.
Coastguards and paramedics at the scene deemed it was safer to extract them via the lifeboat rather than a challenging ascent up the castle's path.
