Edwin Bock owed his marriage to seasickness.
In 1949, on a ship headed for Europe, he met a young woman named George Ann, who complained of feeling woozy. He offered her some Dramamine, and the rest is history. The pair soon got married and raised five children together.
Bock, a Syracuse University professor of political science and an author, died on July 28 . He was 103.
The key to his longevity?
“He had a really positive attitude towards life,” said his daughter, Ariel Bock. “He really loved it. He was curious about things and people and the world in general. And that kept him looking forward.”
“His work was all about public service,” said his son, Corey Bock. “He was a true believer in public service and citizenship.”
