The 2025 high school football season is almost here.

While the preseason has been filled with excitement, Wilmington-area high schools will play their first official games of the 2025 season on Aug. 22.

Last fall saw teams like Ashley make huge strides, and others like Hoggard advance deep into the state playoffs. With teams playing in new classifications and conferences this fall, the stage is only more thrilling.
