LUBBOCK, Texas -- Senior Warden at the Wallace Unit, Michael Miller, 48, was arrested in Lubbock on August 14 and accused of fraud and theft involving price tag tampering, according to court records obtained by EverythingLubbock.com on Monday.

Miller was arrested at the Walmart on 114th Street and Quaker Avenue. Court records stated Miller used self-checkout and scanned multiple items under a barcode for embroidery floss with a price tag of 53 cents. Court records said the total for Miller's items should have been $137.90, but scanning the floss instead brought the purchase to $4.77.

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice stated, "The agency is deeply disappointed, and his conduct is entirely unacceptable. TDCJ is taking action to separate him from the agency."
