MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A person told Madison Police Officers that they were injured passing around a gun.

The incident occurred on East Towne Blvd, around a block away from East Towne Mall.

The person was hanging out with friends in the parking lot, passing around the gun, per the Madison Police Department.

While the friends were passing the gun around, the gun accidentally went off, hitting the person in the calf, MPD said.

MPD detectives are still investigating the incident.
