HARTFORD, Conn. — Connecticut state Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan (D) has been granted a form of special probation after being charged with shoplifting incidents in June.

The lawmaker, who represents Bethel and parts of Danbury in Connecticut’s 2nd District, said in a statement, "Today, Judge Stango granted me Accelerated Rehabilitation, and I am deeply grateful. This program provides first-time offenders an opportunity to make amends, and once completed, my charges will be dismissed. Additionally, I will pay full restitution of $54 to Target. I appreciate the help of my attorney, Candace Fay during this process."
