BARDSTOWN, Ky. — The sentencing of Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson has been delayed. The pair were originally scheduled to be sentenced for their involvement in the death of Crystal Rogers on Thursday, Aug. 21.
In an order from the Nelson Circuit Court, sentencing is delayed because of “the ongoing serious health issues” of Lawson.
Sentencing for the pair is now set for Wednesday, Sept. 17.
Houck and Lawson were found guilty on July 8 in the death of Rogers. For his murder conviction, the jury recommended a life sentence for Houck, and for Lawson’s part in the 2015 disappearance and murder, they recommended 25 years.
Lawson’s father, Steven, was also convicted and was sentenced to 17 years in jail for his role in the crime.
