GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Marcus Johnson spent his summer vacation touring some of the country’s biggest prep schools, including Oak Hill Academy and IMG.
The Ohio State basketball commit admitted he liked what he saw. The pull of playing for one of those programs and the NIL opportunities that came with them were strong, but spending his senior year of high school at Garfield Heights around his family proved stronger. With school starting later this week, Johnson is staying at Garfield Heights for one more year.
Johnson, a 6-foot-2 standout guard and reigning Ohio Mr. Basketball winner , confirmed his decision Sunday night before going public Monday afternoon.
