The 144th Maryland State Fair opens on Thursday and will remain open over three weekends at the State Fairgrounds in Timonium.

“We say whenever the big Ferris Wheel lights go off, but normally around 11 o’clock at night,” Assistant general manager David Gordon said.

The fair opens on Thursdays at 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Labor Day Monday.

The Maryland State Fair decided to move to a three-weekend format in 2022 instead of having it over one span of 12 consecutive days.

Gordon says that change was made for several reasons, including one to accommodate earlier start dates of school districts around the state.

Visitors can also enjoy all the fair food favorites.
