A 22-year-old woman was arrested for felony and misdemeanor counts of interference, as well as intoxication, shortly before midnight Saturday.
Police responded to a report of the woman, later identified as Kiersten Black, lying in the intersection of East Fourth Street and South Gurley Avenue, Police Sgt. Jay Johnson said.
When they arrived, Black showed clear signs of heavy intoxication, and she was unable to walk without falling. She had no control over her emotions, was making nonsensical statements and was engaged in loud and violent discourse.
When officers tried to take Black into custody, she resisted, biting an officer’s arm, breaking the skin and causing bruising and swelling. The officer was later treated and released from the hospital.
