MADISON, Wis. -- After a Madison rideshare driver was allegedly robbed at gunpoint, other drivers are raising concerns about safety on the job.
According to police, two riders pulled out a gun when the driver arrived at their destination. As he was about to hand over his phone and money, the suspects allegedly got out of the car and took off running.
"It's a real concern," said David Zahn, who drives for Uber in his retirement to make some extra money.
Zahn said he's given 2,500-3,000 rides in Madison throughout his years driving. When he learned about Sunday's incident, he reflected on his own routes.
"I'm sure there are people that have carried weapons into my car that I didn't know about," he said.
