AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - The city of Akron and the Akron Public Schools came to an agreement on the school resource officer contract for this school year and next, according to a press release from the mayor’s office.
Mayor Shammas Malik’s office released the following statement:
“We’re glad to have reached an agreement with Akron Public Schools on the school resource officer contract for this school year and next. We have a long partnership with APS to have our officers in school buildings for the safety and security of Akron’s students, staff, and faculty. Our officers bring significant value to the schools and our community by building relationships with students and staff in addition to the security they provide.
