ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The next generation of Georgia filmmakers are in for a treat.

The Georgia Film Academy is moving in next to our parent company Gray Media’s Assembly Studios.

“It’s going to be a backlot inside a building,” said Scott Votaw, Assistant Vice Chancellor for University of Georgia System. “We’re going to be able to do more new media. Streaming, vertical production, e-sports, this whole building will be wired to run streaming.”

GFA officials said this will expand the school’s footprint across the state, increase opportunities for prospective moviemakers, and boost the state’s economy.
