Jordan Hicks has allowed 14 runs since being traded to the Boston Red Sox in early June as part of the Rafael Devers trade.

The righty gave up two more runs in Monday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles. It marked the first time since June 2-3 that the Red Sox lost back-to-back games at Fenway, after trailing 6-3 to the Orioles to start the week.

«He didn’t finish his slider,» said manager Alex Cora after Monday’s game. «Foul tip with two strikes, and then a fastball up that the guy got to it. We have to continue working with him. We are not going to give up.»

During his stretch with the Red Sox, Jordan Hicks has allowed seven runs in the 4.2 innings he pitched.

But Cora remains optimistic.
