KJ Apa is more than just an actor!

The 28-year-old actor was recently a guest on Today where he talked about a traditional Samoan title that’s been passed down through his family.

The actor revealed that he was recently named a chief in his Samoan community, a title that was passed down to him by his father in a traditional ceremony.

KJ told the hosts about the tradition while a guest on the show. He said, “The title that my dad has is a very old title that’s in our family called Tupa’i. He got his title — I think it was about five, six years ago. And his father had it, so it was bestowed upon him after his father passed away.”
