Offset has confirmed the final track on his new album is about the end of his marriage to Cardi B.
The Migos rapper is currently gearing up for the release of his third solo album KIARI. The closing track is titled Move On, and Offset has explained how he felt compelled to record the song following his split from Cardi.
"It's about moving on, like, peacefully. That's what the message is supposed to be," he told Associated Press. "It's all love and peace. I just ended the album with that, just to end that chapter because it's time to move on, it's over and done with."
Offset - real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus - found writing Move On a cathartic experience and has insisted the time has come for them to start a new chapter in their respective lives.
The stars married in 2017, before Cardi filed for divorce in 2020. Following a reconciliation, they had an on-off relationship until Cardi filed for a second time in 2024. The former couple share three children - seven-year-old Kulture, three-year-old Wave, and 11-month-old Blossom.
"It was great while it lasted," Offset said of their marriage. "That shouldn't be the topic for either one of us no more. It's a book that's closed."
Cardi confirmed she was in a new relationship in June, with the Bodak Yellow star sharing a photo of herself lying on the deck of a yacht with American football player Stefon Diggs.
KIARI is scheduled for release on 22 August.
