Susan Ingersoll Aswegan started her sons and grandsons on the way to learning about their family history.

Susan’s sister, Sandra Ingersoll Miller, had told John Aswegan, Susan’s grandson, that there was a Jared Ingersoll who signed the Constitution. Sandy wondered if he was an ancestor. Eventually Susan’s grandson, John Aswegan, went to work googling Jared Ingersoll.

Susan’s first search didn’t find anything in their direct bloodline, but she also continued to check other sources. She went to Ancestry.com . She found John Ingersoll of Westfield, Massachusetts. As she followed the family tree, she found that John Ingersoll and Mary Hunt Ingersoll had several children. Two of their sons were Thomas and Jonathan Ingersoll.
