On June 1, the new Indiana High School Athletic Association “first time” transfer rule went into effect . The new rule essentially allows a non-senior athlete who has not previously transferred in high school to receive full eligibility.

We asked members of the 2025 IndyStar preseason football Super Team : What do you think about the new IHSAA first time transfer rule?

“I think it’s pretty good. With the new landscape of college football and how that translates down to high school football, I think it is good because you never know certain situations kids can have.
