Monroe County RSVP is organizing a county-wide "Fill the Trunk" food drive to support seven local food pantries, according to a community announcement.

The drive is scheduled to take place over two weekends at various locations across the county. Volunteers will be present to distribute flyers listing the items needed by the pantries and collect purchased items at store exits. The collected goods will be delivered directly to the designated pantries for immediate distribution.

The first weekend of the drive is planned for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 5 and 6 at the Kroger located at 850 S. Monroe St. The donations collected there will support the Oaks of Righteousness and MCOP food pantries.
