SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) - An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for most of the ArkLaTex today, including Shreveport/Bossier and Texarkana. We will begin to feel some relief as soon as tomorrow in some areas.

Sunrise temperatures will be in the 70s under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. High pressure is moving west, but its firm grip on the ArkLaTex will crank our temperatures above 100 degrees, with tropical humidity blasting our heat index above 110 degrees this afternoon. Areas under the Extreme Heat Warning can expect a heat index between 110 and 114 degrees. The rest of us remain under a Heat Advisory, where the heat index will be between 105 and 109 degrees. Limit your time in the sun, stay hydrated, and wear loose and light colored clothing.
