Anyone who’s seen the classic whodunit “ Clue ” knows the mystery has multiple endings.
Who is the killer?
Well, that depends on various circumstances and implements.
The film is based on the board game of the same name (originally known as “ Cluedo ” in the United Kingdom), whose weapons include the rope, wrench, lead pipe, knife, gun and candlestick.
When “Clue” was released in 1985, each theater screened one of three endings.
And when the movie hit home video, you could watch all the endings in succession:
“How it Could Have Happened.”
“How About This?”
“Here’s What Really Happened.”
This week, “ Clue” is headed back to theaters for its 40th anniversary with the original rollout.
Theatergoers will get one of three endings per screening.
