Twenty-seven people were arrested in Fairbanks during a two-day crime suppression and drug enforcement operation earlier this month, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

The operation, carried out Aug. 7-8, was led by the Fairbanks Areawide Narcotics Team and the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas task force, a release from troopers states. Dozens of officers from local, state and federal agencies assisted.

Investigators reported seizing $10,147 in suspected drug proceeds, five firearms, 5.5 grams of methamphetamine, 9 grams of fentanyl powder and 32 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. Arrests were made on a range of offenses, including outstanding warrants, probation violations and new charges such as misconduct involving a controlled substance and attempted murder.
