Leeds United have brought in eight signings for less than £100million so far this transfer window. Even if AC Milan winger Noah Okafor arrives for a fee of around £17m, Leeds will not have surpassed the threshold.

While that is shrewd business, it also raises the question of the quality of signings. Going by Monday’s performance , the new boys might well be worth their salt.
