Graham McTavish, known for his role as Dougal McKenzie in the popular television series “Outlander,” attended the 46th Annual Maine Highland Games and Scottish Festival over the weekend, marking a significant milestone for the event in its new Windsor location.

The Scottish actor participated in the festival held Aug. 16 and 17 at the Windsor Fairgrounds, which featured traditional Highland athletics alongside the Scottish Men’s Heavy Athletics World Championship. McTavish participated in ceremonial activities including throwing the inaugural Braemar stone, a heavy “standing” version of the shot put where athletes cannot take a running start.
