The Orioles have improved their play recently, winning five out of their last six games, and they have a couple of younger players to thank for providing a spark to the club.
They called up outfielder Dylan Beavers and catcher Samuel Basallo over the weekend, and both players made their marks and helped the team win. The future is here in Baltimore, and these two will add to a young core that should help the club rebound quickly next year.
Beavers, 24, was the No. 33 pick in the 2022 draft out of the University of California and is considered the Orioles' third-best prospect. Basallo is the first dividend from the Orioles' focus on international signings during general manager Mike Ellias' time.
