As Mayor of Bay Harbor Islands, a town of fewer than 6,000 residents, Isaac Salver may have fewer constituents than many other local leaders. But he’s made an outsized impact, according to the Florida League of Cities ( FLC ).

Salver is this year’s recipient of FLC’s “ E. Harris Drew Municipal Official Lifetime Achievement Award ” in honor of Salver’s more than 26 years of civil service.

The organization noted that under his leadership, Bay Harbor Islands became one of the 10 safest cities in the Sunshine State.

“The recognition of this award is humbling to know that it was given to me this year, when we have such a flock of quality leaders from across the state,” Slaver said in a statement.
