Even ambulances aren’t safe, it seems, from the clutches of thieves following an unusual incident in Colborne, report police.

Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police are now hunting for culprits who made off with an ambulance responding to an emergency call on Sunday around 11:30 p.m.

Police said they responded to a report of the stolen vehicle from William Street.

“Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were attending a residence and upon returning to the ambulance, discovered that it had been taken. The vehicle was recovered a short time later at another location in town and was found unoccupied,” OPP said.
