SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Students are back in the classroom at Springfield Public Schools, but before learning could start for the day, many students needed to be dropped off by their parents.

One family dropping off students at Boyd Elementary has just moved to the area from Colorado. They say the first drop-off in a new area can bring some mixed emotions.

Rares Golea was dropping off his kids in fourth and fifth grade on Tuesday morning. Golea says they live close enough to walk in the mornings and once the school day is over.

Golea thinks he and his wife might be more excited for the first day than their kids because they are looking forward to being part of a new district and city.
