MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — According to court records, two inmates have been given an additional charge of arson for setting blankets on fire while in jail.

On August 10, court records show that Jamari Battle set fire to his blanket in his cell. On August 14, documents show that Battle was charged with first-degree arson.

Documents show that on August 11, Jeffrey King also set his blanket on fire in his cell and he was given the same arson charge as Battle on August 14.

Jail records show that Battle and King were already in the Madison County Jail on a number of separate charges prior to their arson charges.
