A petition has been launched calling for step-free access to be put in place at one of the least accessible railway stations in Scotland.
Gordon and Buchan MP Harriet Cross believes accessibility issues at Insch railway station in Aberdeenshire are leaving some passengers with no choice but to ditch rail as they can’t access the platform.
She has also called for a lift to be installed on the footbridge that goes over the track if step-free access can’t be put in place.
Step-free access at train stations means there is a route from the street to the platform that avoids stairs or large gaps.

But Insch is currently the only station in the north-east where both platforms are no
