Steeler, an explosive-sniffing Labrador retriever at Pittsburgh International Airport, is in the running for the 2025 Cutest Canine Contest.

The contest, sponsored by the Transportation Security Administration, is being held on Instagram, X and Facebook.

The final voting round opens at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 20. Steeler and the rest of his litter were born on Super Bowl Sunday and all were named after NFL teams. He is 2 years, 7 months old and can often be seen around the public area of the TSA lanes at PIT. He’s teamed with Explosive Detection Canine Handler Mark Smith.

Steeler is trained to use his keen sense of smell to detect the scent of explosives or explosive materials.
