The Somerset Lady Jumpers, with new head coach LaDawna Tucker, kicked off their season at the Briar Patch on Monday with a 2-0 sweep (25-7, 25-17) over Cumberland Christian Home Educators.

The game was a bit back and forth in the first set, as the teams traded points until a kill from Sara Tucker gave the Jumpers a 3-2 edge. The home team then went on a stellar 12-0 run that gave them a 15-2 lead in the set, anchored by several kills from Tucker as well as four aces from Reagan Childers. An attacking error brought an end to that run, but from there the Hawks just didn't have enough to recover, as aces from Addison Fleshman and Kacie Smith, as well as a set-winning kill from Sarah McBride gave the Jumpers a 25-7 win in the first set.
