The Yuma County Board of Supervisors received an update Monday on two major broadband projects aimed at improving internet access and supporting local farming with new technology.

Deputy County Administrator Josh Scott gave the presentation. He told the board that no votes were needed, but both projects are moving forward quickly.

The first project, known as the Middle Mile Fiber Network, involves building nearly 170 miles of underground fiber-optic cable across the county. The goal is to help internet service providers offer faster, more affordable service to homes and businesses in Yuma County.
