Washoe County Assistant Library Director Stacy McKenzie took a temporary leave of absence, leaving the library system with no official director.

According to the Washoe County Library System, McKenzie submitted her notice of temporary leave on Wednesday, Aug. 13.

"We have no further information at this time," Jamie Hemingway, the system's public information and development officer, said in an email.

Assistant County Manager Dave Solaro will work directly with the library board and provide guidance to the system going forward, Hemingway said.

McKenzie had stepped in unofficially as acting director after former Library Director Jeff Scott resigned April 16 .
